We take pride in our closed-loop water system, where every drop is utilized efficiently and thoughtfully. The water used in our brewing process doesn't go to waste; instead, it's repurposed to nourish our onsite hops and adjacent apple orchard, ensuring that our impact on the environment is positive and productive. This integration of sustainable practices not only supports local agriculture but also aligns with our mission to brew great tasting sustainably crafted beverages while caring for our planet. OUR INNOVATIVE ZERO WASTEWATER PROCESS

- Reduced Carbon Emissions by 63% in first year after initial Greenhouse Gas (GHG) inventory taken in 2019. Key contributors were preventative maintenance on refrigeration system as well as insulation of piping and light sensors implemented throughout our 2-year-old facility.
- Partnership with Bayview Flowers (in the winter months when we can’t spread due to frost) to supply the Bench organics for their Anaerobic Digestion Facility that receives and transforms the organics to a reusable high energy product that is applied to local crops.

Based on the B Impact assessment, Bench Brewing Company earned an overall score of 99.2. The median score for ordinary businesses who complete the assessment is currently 50.9.
The ‘B’ in B Corp stands for ‘benefit, and certifies a commitment to conscious, ethical, and sustainable business practices.
Bench achieved B-Corp status in March 2021, joining a community of over 8,000 B Corps across 150 industries and 74 countries who strive to use business as a force for good.
B Corp is the only certification program that measures a company’s entire social and environmental performance and not just a particular product or service across key impact areas: Environment, Community, Workers, Customers and Governance.
HOW DID BENCH GET B-CORP STATUS?
Measuring a company’s entire social and environmental impact.
To achieve certification, a company must:
Demonstrate highest social and environmental performance by achieving a B Impact Assessment score of 80 or above and passing our risk review.
Make a legal commitment by changing their corporate governance structure and articles of association to be accountable to all stakeholders, not just shareholders, and achieve benefit corporation status if available in their jurisdiction.
Exhibit transparency by allowing information about their performance measured against B Lab’s standards to be publicly available on their B Corp profile on B Lab’s website.
