Bench Brewing Company is an independent craft beverage company proudly located in the beautiful Niagara Benchlands wine region of Niagara and the Town of Lincoln.
Surrounded by some of Ontario’s finest agricultural land, our location provides the ideal setting for crafting great tasting, approachable beer, cider and wine that reflects our local terroir.

ESTATE GROWN HOPS
We are also farmers! Bench has a 3-acre hop yard on the site of the brewery. The hops varietals that we grow are Cascade, Centennial, Chinook and Willamette with this year being our 7th harvest! We use these hops in all of our beer and now our Non-Alc. Hop Water. Our soil and climate provide a great location to grow amazing hops with a Niagara terroir!
COOLSHIP
A coolship is the anglicized word for koelschip, a traditional Belgian brewing tool. It is a wide shallow pan used for cooling hot, unfermented wort and kicking off the spontaneous fermentation process. Unlike most beers that use cultivated yeast to convert wort into beer, spontaneously fermentation relies on naturally occurring yeasts that exist in the environment. The unique terroir results in a distinctive house style that cannot be reproduced anywhere else in the world.
BARREL ROOM
Our barrel room is where we age our beer in wine barrels sourced exclusively from our Twenty Valley winery neighbours. Formerly used to make world class pinot noirs, chardonnays, and gamays – these barrels help us create beers with a true sense of time and place unique to our surrounding region. Each barrel will impart a unique flavour on our beer depending the type of oak they are made from and what types of wine they held before.
OUR PRODUCTION FACILITY
Since opening in 2018, Bench has expanded its fermentation capacity to meet the needs of its growing craft beverage volumes and create opportunities for further expansion. In addition to its NSI-manufactured 4-vessel, 50 HL brewing system, Bench leans on its centrifuge and newly acquired flash pasteurizer to produce great-quality beer, cider, and RTD craft beverages.
